Portable Desk
This design is centered around modularity, where the feet of the base can be swapped for different mounts for other use cases. This design is also built around better materials such as plywood, PLA, and metal inserts. This reinforced system will be able to support more weight and allow the desk to slide forward without the change of the center of gravity affecting the overall stability. It does this through side clips to hold onto the arm rests of a seat and through bolt holes to set the extension position. These bolt holes may also allow a user to attach straps if they intend to place large weights on the desk surface. In addition, I have added a row of standard M4 bolt holes along the front edge to support modules like phone, cup, pencil, cord, and fan holders, as well as timers, lights, added supports, and more.
This product is intended to be used in a classroom, indoor setting, or limited outdoor applications. Please consider the following before product use:
Please keep fingers and hair away from moving joints to avoid pinches or entaglement
Avoid placing unreasonable weight (15lbs or higher) on the desk element, especially at full extension
Ensure that the desk has at least 4 clips connected at all times to ensure that the desk is held down properly.
User is responsible for proper use and should apply common sense when setting up the desk.
This product is designed for anyone looking for a larger desk in a small space. The largest user group would be RPI students.
