Problem Identification

Looking back on a design from DIS 1, I realized that my shower bottle bag could be drastically improved to fit for my current living situation. The problem with the old design was that the bag would get very wet and very gross quickly and you couldn't have the bag in the shower with you to hold your bottles. I changed how I viewed my bottles in my shower and decided a rack of sorts to hold the bottles would be better for my current living situation.

Initial Design

The initial design was very simple -- an L-shaped tray with holes in the bottom and a hook at the top to go over the glass door. This design was fully made in CAD, however I was soon inspired to change the design material and function-wise.

Pivot

Instead of having the tray hang over the door it was suggested to me that I use suction cups so that it could work on any glass door and it would not slide across the door as much. Also, instead of printing the bottle tray, I decided I would make it out of acrylic and have the two pieces screwed in.

Final Design

In the end, I was able to have Mike help me laser cut the acrylic and have Abe help me screw them together. I also bought extremely strong suction cups that can hold significant weight. The final design is visually cleaner, easier to clean, works on more doors and more functional/stronger.
